This is the 52nd and last issue of CSS Weekly (for this year). This means that I haven’t missed a single week in 2014; I’m quite proud of that.
Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without authors who keep writing (and publishing) excellent articles week after week. Thank you from the bottom of my hearth.
CSS Weekly has grown to more than 18,500 subscribers in the past year; that’s a growth of more than 65%. Newsletter open rate is above 45% and click rate at 20% on average, which tells me that you actually like the content.
I’ve been doing my best to ensure that CSS Weekly keeps a high standard of quality. I read every article and tutorial, watch every video, and do my best to try out every tool that is mentioned in the newsletter.
I will continue to do so in the future; and I’d like to give you even more to make CSS Weekly really stand out from all of the other newsletters and curated lists. But I’m gonna need your help.
The costs of this newsletter are quite high. Mailchimp (service used to manage the list and send out the newsletter) is currently at $135 per month, while my time amounts to 20+ hours per week (I’m not gonna put a price on that).
This comes up as a lot, that’s why you’re seeing ads in the newsletter. I know that a lot of you don’t mind, but I also know that some of you do mind.
So I want to give you a chance to opt out of the ads and to support CSS Weekly along the way.
I’ve started a Patreon page to make this happen. If you pledge $0.50 per month (no string attached, you can quit at any time) you will become CSS Weekly Supporter.
As a supporter, you will get an ad-free newsletter, you will get the newsletter at least 12 hours before non-supporters, and your profile will be shown on CSS Weekly’s website.
And all of this is just a beginning. I will be giving you even more soon (free stuff and original content to begin with). But as I said, I need your help and your support to really make it happen.
Thank you! Have a beautiful holiday season and a wonderful and successful new year!
